Our Story

The Terang Hotel proudly holds the title of Terang’s very first hostelry, established in 1859 by James McAdie. From the very beginning, the hotel was more than just a place to eat or stay—it was a meeting point for travellers, farmers, workers, and locals, and a cornerstone of the growing Terang community.

For over a century, the hotel has witnessed the town’s evolution, sharing in its milestones, celebrations, and everyday stories. Through changing times, ownerships, and generations, the heart of the Terang Hotel has remained the same: honest hospitality, good food, and a warm welcome for all.
